About Me

The Apex Functional Nutrition Experience

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Vera, and I am a Registered Dietitian with specialized training as an Integrative and Functional Nutrition Certified Practitioner (IFNCP). Prior to starting my own practice, I gained 4 years of valuable experience in clinical settings. I completed my graduate degree at Meredith College and pursued further training in integrative and functional nutrition through the Integrative and Functional Nutrition Academy.

In my personal health journey, frustrated with the limitations of the traditional healthcare model, which often focuses solely on treating symptoms, I searched for a more profound understanding of health and wellness. I had numerous unanswered questions that required a more comprehensive and holistic approach.

My belief in the healing power of nature, the use of food as medicine, and the importance of addressing root causes for sustainable results led me to embrace functional nutrition/medicine. I discovered my true calling in this field, as it aligns perfectly with my values. I now utilize nature's wisdom to support individuals in their healing journeys, enabling them to thrive and experience their best selves.

Yet, my role goes far beyond that of a traditional dietitian. I approach my clients as unique individuals with multifaceted needs. As their life coach, I am committed to empowering them to set and achieve meaningful goals. As their psychologist and therapist, I provide a compassionate and understanding space to explore their thoughts and feelings, helping them navigate the emotional aspects of their health journey. And as their friend, I am dedicated to building a trusting and supportive relationship that fosters open communication and a true sense of partnership.

Through my practice, I employ a "food as medicine" approach, implement lifestyle changes, conduct functional medicine testing, and emphasize the mind-body connection to create a foundation for lasting health and healing. My ultimate goal is to help my clients achieve long-term well-being and vitality.
